International governance expert. Currently focused on the climate politics of emerging economies.
I’ve held several senior international posts, including Chief Technical Advisor to the United Nations Development Programme in Jerusalem, and Chief Technical Specialist in Pakistan's tribal areas. In the latter, I led a team of 250 professionals implementing reforms and stabilization actions in the frontier region and helped to deliver a significant constitutional reform.
I have worked in 20+ countries and territories for organizations including the International Foundation for Electoral Systems, UN Women, and the Organisation for Security and Cooperation in Europe.
What I’m Working On
I’m interested in how politics in fast-growing economies in Africa and Asia will tackle decarbonization. These economies are presently responsible for most of the growth in carbon pollution globally, and I’m keen to model how these political systems will square pressure to decarbonize with the political power of entrenched polluters.
